Duo gets suspended sentence for aggravated burglary

TWO men who stole two bicycles from an apartment in Pacific Harbour were today handed down a suspended sentence by the High Court in Suva.

Anare Tomu and Aliki Waliqi were charged with one count each of aggravated burglary and theft.

The court was informed that on June 8 this year, the duo stole the two bicycles valued at $750.

In delivering sentence, High Court judge Justice Chamath Morais instructed that the two mend their ways and become law abiding citizens.

The duo were sentenced to 34 and a half months, which has been suspended for five years.
