Duo died from drowning

Update: 3:56PM THE post mortem reports of two men who were swept away by strong currents in Serua on Wednesday night reveal that they drowned.
Police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the two men’s cause of death had been ascertained by the pathologist as asphyxia due to drowning.
Rusiate Ratulevu, 54, a grader operator, was crossing the Vunaniu River in Serua to reach home after work when he was swept away by strong currents.
The alarm was raised and some people went to search for Mr Ratulevu.
But during the search, Maika Kunabuli, 43, a Methodist Church steward was also swept away by the currents.
The bodies of the two villagers were later recovered.
