JACK’S Nadi will miss the services of star striker Ratu Josefata Dugucagi for the remainder of the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants this weekend.
Ratu Josefata injured his ankle during the pool stage of the BOG in Labasa last week. The lanky player has been ruled out for two weeks.
Ratu Josefata is a key player in the Nadi attack with Rusiate Matarerega and Napolioni Qasevakatini.
Nadi will go in as the underdogs in the semi-final against General Machinery Lautoka on Saturday.
Surprisingly the Jetsetters has not beaten Lautoka in the past two years.
Nadi Football Association president Javed Ahmed said some players had suffered knocks and bruises.
Ahmed said these players have been in recovery mode.
“Apart from Ratu Josefata we expect all the other players to be fully fit before the semi-final,” he said.
“The boys are looking at making up for the loss in the Fiji FACT final to Rewa. However our first task is to overcome a vastly experienced Lautoka side. They have a very strong bench and their coach Kamal Swamy knows our players well having mentored them for some time.
“We haven’t beaten Nadi in two years, so we have a huge task on our hands to break that jinx. This is where the support will be needed from the fans to cheer the players and boost their morale. My humble request for the fans is to wear green and come out in full force on Saturday.”
Nadi last won the Fiji FACT title back in 1996.
