The Fijiana side has made a winning start to the Dubai 7s.
They defeated Ireland 24-19 in their opening pool match.
Fiji started on a high with first half tries to Alowesi Nakoci, Sesenieli Donu while Ireland’s Lucy Mulhall scored the lone try for the opponents. Fiji led 12-5 at halftime.
Ireland started the second half strongly with a try to Beibhinn Parsons to reduce the gap to 12-10.
Reapi Uluinasau scored Fiji’s third try to extend the lead to 19-12 with two minutes to go.
Kathy Baker scored Ireland’s third try in the 13th minute to tie the scores at 19-19.
Ana Maria Roqica scored Fiji’s winning try after the hooter to seal a 24-19 win.
