LIGHT showers failed to keep the huge crowd away from town to witness the opening of the Digicel Duavata Northern Crime Prevention Carnival in Labasa.

Led by the Fiji Police Band, members of the public lined the town streets as they cheered for the 20 contestants.

Community Policing director Senior Superintendent Isei Raboiliku called on the communities to work with his team to fight crime.

“Take ownership and together we can reduce crime in Viti Levu and Vanua Levu,” SSP Raboiliku said.

“It has to be inbuilt and a passion and let’s work from our hearts to fight crime.”
