The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua players are looking forward to play in front of fans again.
They take on the Chiefs in Round 15 of the Super Rugby Pacific competition at Churchill Park in Lautoka on May 28, 2022.
Drua players Tuidraki Samusamuvodre and Teti Tela shared the same sentiments.
“I know majority of the players in the team are from the West.
Hopefully friends and family members turn out in numbers and watch us play the Chiefs,” said Samusamuvodre.
“I hope that we will play well on the day and certainly give fans something to smile about”.
The Namotomoto, Nadi, villager knows how passionate people in the West are about rugby and how dreams are ignited from matches like these.
“I know every youngster growing up in Fiji has either wished of watching a Super Rugby game in person or to play in one. This is how dreams are ignited and I would just like to tell young fans that dreams certainly come true if you work hard enough.”
Meanwhile Tela said that playing in Fiji gives the players an extra dose of confidence.
“I know how important playing at home means to the boys and I am sure that the match against the Chiefs would be a good game. I urge fans to come and watch us play in Lautoka. I know it will be a big one since this is the first Super Rugby match to be held there,” he said.
