Drone operators warned of ‘no fly zone’

Listen to this article:

DRONE operators have been warned of a strict “no fly zone” around polling stations, the counting center and the election warehouse tomorrow.

Police Chief of Operations ACP Maretino Qiolevu in a statement earlier this morning, issued an advise to drone operators to refrain from flying drones within a vicinity of 500 meters from any polling station in the country from 5am tomorrow (November 14, 2018), until midnight.

Mr Qiolevu said a prior approval must be sought from the Fijian Elections Office.

He adds that a failure to comply could result in the operator being liable for prosecution and the confiscation of drones.
