Drink responsibly, say police

Update: 12:01PM THE Fiji Police Force has reiterated the need for people to have a sense of responsibility when consuming alcohol.

“There are
consequences to everything we do and a person?s ability to control their
actions is clearly affected when they are heavily intoxicated,” said Chief of
Intelligence and Investigations, Assistant Commissioner of Police Henry Brown.

ACP
Brown said the reason to request people to adopt a change of mindset was based
on what was witnessed when families suffer the loss of a loved one.

He made the
comments after police charged three men for the alleged murder of a 28-year-old
labourer of Lakena in Nausori over the weekend.

Two of the
accused have been charged with one count of murder each while the third accused
has been charged with one count of murder and one count of act with intent to
cause grievous  bodily harm.
