Promising a day of exceptional fashion, racing excitement and prizes, the Fiji Fashion Week (FJFW) Melbourne Cup event is an event that is not to be missed.
The much-anticipated annual event is expected to take place at 1pm on November 7, 2023, at Suva’s iconic Grand Pacific Hotel.
FJFW managing director Ellen Whippy-Knight said the Melbourne Cup was synonymous with fashion.
“Fashion on the fields, as it is known, attracts the most creative of fashionistas who spend thousands to win best dressed of the day,” she said.
“Wherever there is a Melbourne Cup luncheon globally, there will also be a best dressed competition where in fact the main feature is headwear – a hat or a fascinator.”
Ms Whippy-Knight said the theme is to wear “bright colours, lots of bling and be a standout”.
“In the same vein, the women who attend Melbourne Cup lunch in Fiji are no different in their style, fashion and glam.”
Two Fijian designers will showcase their latest collections while guests have been invited to dress in their finest racewear.
The event will feature a best hat competition, celebrating the creativity and elegance of headwear, along with raffle draws offering a chance to win exciting prizes.
