Dranisinukula confident of good outing in London

FIJI 7s team captain Paula Dranisinukula said they were confident of giving a good performance this weekend.

“My boys and I are challenged but we are happy and eager to take on the challenge and it won’t be easy but we will work and bleed to win this tournament,” Dranisinukula said.

Meanwhile the New Zealand rugby 7s team will field three Fijian players in its line-up at the London 7s tournament this weekend.

Vilimoni Koroi, Josefa Ravouvou and Jona Nareki have been selected by coach Clark Laidlaw to complete the last leg of the series in London and Paris.

Nareki featured in all the past eight tournaments starting from Dubai last year and will complete the 2018/2019 Series participating in all the 10 tournaments when it ends next week.

Ravouvou was only selected in six tournaments for New Zealand and will be a hitman for the Kiwis in London and Paris.

He missed out in the opening leg in Dubai and Cape Town in South Africa.

Koroi played in five tournaments.

He missed Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore .

Meanwhile the Fiji Airways Fiji 7s team is injury free as the players adapt themselves in London’s environment ready for the second last tournament of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.

Coach Gareth Baber said his players had recovered during their preparations and were geared up to defend the London 7s tournament this weekend.

Fiji will meet Kenya in its first pool match at 9:36pm on Saturday then play France at 12:36am on Sunday and their last pool match is against Samoa at 3:48am on Sunday.
