DRAINAGE works valued at $146,964 has started at the Koronivia Road, and expected to benefit more than 4000 residents who reside in the area.

Koronivia Road provides access for residents to the main Kings road along the Suva-Nausori corridor.

Fiji’s Minister for Waterways Mahendra Reddy, while commissioning the drainage works at Koronivia, says proposed works are intended to minimise the impacts of flooding by safely carrying storm water away from built-up areas into rivers and creeks.

He said the ministry aimed to minimise flooding risks to people, property and infrastructure by building and managing drainage infrastructure.
