Fullback Isaia Vuda scored a hat-trick of tries to guide the Saru Dragons to a massive 62-2 victory against the Yasawa Saints in the ‘Maroon State’ Fiji National Rugby League Vodafone Championship at Prince Charles Park in Nadi yesterday.

With the win the Dragons team has maintained its place in the top four positions in the competition with high hopes of qualifying for the eliminations.

The Dragons led 26-0 at the break. Dragons coach Peni Tubakibau said the boys played to the game plan which was basic rugby league by taking their set of tackles and kicking for possession.

“The boys run their lines well and had a good completion rate I would say about 90 per cent. The opponents did not cross our line. So at the end it was about doing the bacis right.

“We took the five tackles and kicked on the last which gained us the much need territory. The boys then defended well to do the damage.

“It was a team effort. I’m happy with the performance of the boys and we are now getting the right combinations.”

In another match Nadi Eels lost to West Coast 10-26.

Some results: Saru Dragons 62-0 Yasawa Saints, Nadi Eels 10-26 West Coast Storme
