The Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources has announced the appointment of Dr Raijeli Taga as its permanent secretary.
A government statement released yesterday stated Dr Taga brought with her a strong foundation of experience and skills.
Her most recent roles include deputy secretary for the Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources.
Dr Taga holds a PhD in mining engineering in the field of environment toxicology from the University of Queensland.
She is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and previously served on the board of directors of Investment Fiji.
The decision was made after a wide search for candidates with the agreement of the Public Service Commission and the prime minister.
