FIJI National University newly appointed Chancellor Dr Rajesh Chandra’s first official engagement is the series of graduation ceremonies scheduled for this week.

He said it was a great honor for him to be given the opportunity to guide and assist FNU and be part of the graduation ceremony.

He also thanked the Government for appointing an outstanding Council for FNU that should mark a major step-up in making FNU the premier national university that all stakeholders can be proud of.

There are four graduation ceremonies scheduled from May 1-3 at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva which will see the graduation of 1396 students from FNU’s five Colleges and National Training and Productivity Centre (NTPC).

Vice Chancellor Professor Nigel Healey said it was paramount for FNU prepared their students who were work-force ready.

“The student’s career is shaped by their educational experiences and they carry their qualifications from FNU on their resume for the rest of their professional lives, therefore, for students and alumni – where they study for their qualifications matters immensely,” Professor Healey said.

“Graduation is a significant step in every student’s journey through life which also marks the end of one stage and the start of the next adventure.”
