Compliance in businesses is very important, says Business Assistance Fiji (BAF) chairperson Dr Nur Bano Ali.

She highlighted this during BAF organised Awareness & Networking Workshop held in Lautoka yesterday.

“Whether you are running the business all by yourself or there are more than one person in your business, compliance is very important.

“This is where BAF comes in. We not only provide direct assistance to businesses but also support service providers as well,” said Dr Ali.

She acknowledged the service providers for their support towards micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME).

“It is due to your support that we are able to assist smaller businesses to become sustainable and for them to grow bigger and better.

“Fiji’s business sector comprises a lot of SMEs, however, most of them are in the informal space.

“These businesses do not formalise themselves neither register themselves properly, thus they do not comply.”

Dr Bano said those businesses who had their compliances were registered enterprises who were counted in the statistics and were bound to be successful.

“The sooner you inculcate those habits in your business, the better for your business.”
