THE Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Christopher Pryde, has sanctioned a charge against National Workers Union general secretary Felix Anthony for breaching Section 15 of the Public Order Act 1969.
“The charge relates to false statements made by Felix Anthony on 26th April 2019 to a reporter from the Fiji Times in relation to the expiry of employment contracts of Water Authority of Fiji workers, which tended to create or foster public anxiety,” said Mr Pryde.
Under the Public Order Act, if convicted, a person is liable for a fine not exceeding $5000 or a term of imprisonment not exceeding three years, or both.
