DPP files application to restrain Amadea

An ex parte Originating Summons under the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Act was filed at the High Court in Suva today by the Director of Public Prosecutions, Christopher Pryde seeking orders for the Russian superyacht, Amadea to be restrained from leaving the Fijian waters.

According to a statement, Mr Pryde is seeking orders that the yacht be restrained from leaving until the finalisation of an application to register a warrant to seize the property and that a US warrant to seize the Amadea be registered.

The court is yet to give a date for hearing the DPP’s application.
