RAM’s Export Packers donated one and a half tonnes of dalo and one tonne of cassava on Friday to those affected by the recent floods in the Western Division .
More than 20 workers were involved in the packaging of the root crops at their warehouse in Valelevu, Nasinu to be transported to the Western Division by the Ministry of Agriculture.
Managing director Ram, who is from Vakabuli, Vitogo in Lautoka, knows the struggles faced by those affected.
“Since most people are still in evacuation centres, we are making an effort to reach out and help them ,” Mr Ram said.
He said as Fijians, we must put all differences aside and lend a helping hand to those affected.
“In this situation I believe everyone must work together, forget about politics, we all have to work together to help rebuild the Western Division.
“Our house in Lautoka has also been affected by the floods, our vegetable farms have been damaged so I know what they are facing.”
