FIJI’S Health Minister Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete says it is important that doctors work closely with the communities they are posted to.

Mr Waqainabete made this comment during the induction event of 83 doctors at the Novote Hotel in Lami today.

“We need to improve the physical surroundings in our hospitals and health centres,” he said.

Dr Waqainabete added that the surroundings in which doctors, nurses and health professionals worked in and patients to be treated were too often unsatisfactory.
