LAUTOKA’s future in this year’s O’League championship will be determined this afternoon when it faces AS Dragons of Tahiti in the quarter-finals.
Speaking from Tahiti yesterday, president Abdul Kadar said the side was determined to secure a spot in the semi-finals.
He said the boys were geared up for the big challenge and would be out to deliver the goods for their fans.
“The team has settled down well in Tahiti and have adjusted to the time difference,” said Kadar.
“Our training runs and team preparation is good and the coaches are busy preparing the boys for the big game.
“AS Dragon is a very good side and will have backing of the home crowd but our boys fully understand the importance of this game.
“If we lose this game we are finished so we will give our very best to secure a spot in the semi-finals.”
Kadar said the boys would dedicate this crucial game to their fans and families affected by the flood.
Skipper Beniamino Mateinaqara is expected to lead by example with the backing of experienced players such as Kolinio Sivoki, Kavaia Rawaqa, Dave Radregai, Zibraz Sahib, Samuela Drudru, Jone Vesikula with their three imports in Benjamin Totori, Cory Chettleburgh and Brian Kaltack.
The game kicks off at 6pm.
