LION One Metals, the owners of the Tuvatu Gold Mine in Nadi, have released photos of high grade gold recently found at the mine.

The company said the first surface sample results were very promising.

“These data suggest there is high prospective along a corridor, six kilometres in length, that extends northeastward from the Tuvatu resource,” Dr Quinton Hennigh, technical adviser to Lion One, said in a statement.

“Now that we are opening up roads, we are able to see numerous mineralised exposures.

“These first surface sample results are very promising.”

Lion One said it intended to continue surface sampling over the next months “as it builds a pipeline of new drill targets to be tested during the upcoming dry season”.

Lion One holds a 21-year lease on 13,619 hectare exploration licence covering the entire Tuvatu gold mine.

The Tuvatu gold project is an underground mine located 17km inroad from the Nadi Back Rd.
