DIGICEL customers in the Northern Division now have access to world-class internet speed and reliable data after the company connected its network to the Suva-Savusavu submarine cable.

Company CEO Mike Greig said they had turned another new leaf to welcome the new era in telecommunications.

“This is perfect timing. We are celebrating a milestone 10 years in Fiji this month and this new connection to the Savusavu cable system provides our customers with world-class internet speeds, reliable data and mobile phone experience,” Mr Greig said.

“The new system is more resilient and now reduces the risk of outages during cyclones, floods and bad weather conditions.”

In celebrating this achievement, the company has organised a free concert in Labasa this week – on Friday (October 19) and Saturday (October 20) for the Savusavu residents.

Local singers include Laisa Vulakoro, Semi Kaitani and Saimoni Vuatalevu.

The concert will start at 4pm at Subrail Park in Labasa and 10am in Savusavu on Saturday.
