Digicel Fiji has once again sponsored the Suva Rugby Union this year with $12,000 to kick off their rugby season.
Chief Executive officer Farid Mohammed acknowledged the Union for their support and acceptance of the Digiciel sponsorship for the Escott and the Koroturaga championship.
“Last year we started off with our partnership with SRU for their Koroturaga championship and Escott shield competition and we were delighted to have joint hands with SRU to bring grassroots rugby back to a level,” he said.
“We are happy and we will continue that partnership for the next two years as well, I am also told that this year there is more teams will be joining.”
“Sports as we all know are a great way to bring people together to keep the youths distracted from the wrong things and keeping you’re engaged, it also helps your mental health as well and we are definitely privileged to be partnering with SRU in bringing more teams to the championships.”
