Iokimi Dia didn’t dream that one day, he would go through the Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) officer recruitment.

Yet, not only did he toil and sacrifice to endure the training but also graduated from the program with the Baton of Honour during the FCS passing-out parade yesterday.

Hailing from Kalokolevu Village, Suva, Rewa with maternal links to Sasa Village in Macuata, Mr Dia said he hoped to do his role well and get promoted in the future.

“I didn’t dream that I would take the Baton of Honour award and I thought that another colleague would be chosen for the award.

“I’m the second one in our family to be a corrections officer. My younger brother is also a corrections officer.

“To young boys and girls who wish to take up a career in this field, you have to persevere and work hard to achieve your training at the Fiji Corrections Services.”
