THE view of Suva Habour from higher points such as Princes Rd is beautiful, especially during sunset.
However, there is one thing which stands out like an eyesore.
Several derelict and abandoned vessels are obvious. A few years back there were few observed from the sea wall at Marine Drive in Lautoka.
While there are many views regarding the responsibility of removing derelict vessels, one is of the view that this may be an opportunity for authorities to raise awareness through a documentary which focuses on legal aspects and the actual difficult task of removing of such vessels. Sitting around the kava basin a few days ago, one overheard discussions on the removal of vessel situated not too far from the handicraft centre in Suva.
All in all, one hopes that more awareness is raised on the removal of derelict vessels.
