The Rewa football side has secured a spot in the last four finishers of the 2020 Vodafone Fiji FACT.
They did it in style as well thumping Nasinu 7-nil in their last pool match.
Nasinu which was already out of the competition coming into this match, started slow and Rewa captain Setareki Hughes took full advantage and scored his team’s first goal in the minute.
France Catarogo doubled the lead in the 25th minute while Bruce Hughes scored a brace of goals as Rewa led 4-nil at half time.
Rewa made some changes in the second spell and it proved worthy as all three second goals were scored by players coming off the bench.
Sailosi Rayaqona scored in the 76th minute, Simione Tamanisau who was playing as striker in the 78th and Shavnil Prasad got the seventh goal in the 86th minute.
Rewa coach Marika Rodu was impressed with the great performance from side.
“I am happy with they performed. We have progressed well scoring 12 goals and conceding one. I can’t demand much from the boys as they have performed well,” Rodu said.
Nasinu coach Tagi Vonolagi was disappointed as this was Nasinu’s last game in the Premier division this year. “Nasinu has a lot of fans but we still don’t have a ground of our own,” he said.
“We train at Rishikul and that ground is not available in rainy weather,” Vonolagi said.
