THE defence counsels of the four men charged in relation to a $35 million drug case were told their clients’ bail application would only be accepted by the High Court Registry once the matter
was called before the High Court.

Marc Winston Tjin Konnkoen, 51, Shaneil Suresh Autar, 35, Rosheel Kumar, 24, and Pravishek Kartik Narayan, 21, made their first High Court appearance before judge Justice Rangajeeva Wimalasena
yesterday in Lautoka.

Iqbal Khan, who appeared for Mr Narayan and Mr Kumar, informed the court that the registry had refused his client’s bail application.

However, Justice Wimalasena informed the counsels the applications would only be processed once the case was called before the court.

The four men are accused of trying to transport about 40kg of cocaine valued at $35m.

The four have been further remanded in custody to allow the State to file full information and disclosures. They will reappear in court on November 27.
