Davis will always be ready to Fiji’s call

Israel bound Fiji football star Trina Davis says she will always be ready to answer to Fiji’s call.

“Fiji will always be my team and my home,” said Davis who became the first Fijian woman to become a professional woman footballer taking up a professional contract with the the ASA Tel Aviv Women’s club.

“I will always play and represent Fiji no matter where or what team I play for, Fiji is going to the World Cup 2023, mark my words.”

The US based striker said although moving to ply her trade in the Middle East she will make time for Fiji whenever her country needs her.

“I am in contact with coach Rodu and have assured him that I will be available for Fiji during the play-offs. Fiji is my first priority and I love to play for my country.”

Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel congratulated Davis for her milestone achievement.

“It’s a proud moment for Fiji as Trina is the first national women’s team player to sign her first professional contract,” said Fiji Football president, Rajesh Patel.

Patel added it was great news and a huge boost for Fijian women footballers.

“As we kick start the Women’s Super League this year, this will encourage our female footballers to take up the challenge.

“Davis is a good role model for many women footballers here in the country.”
