Fijian wonder girl Trina Davis has reunited safely with her family in the USA after enduring a tumultuous week in Israel, escaping the conflict in Gaza.

The 19-year-old etched her name in the history books after becoming the first female national footballer to sign a professional playing contract with top Israeli women’s football team ASA Tel-Aviv University Sports Club in late February.

According to Fiji Football Association CEO Mohammed Yusuf, Davis is out of harm’s way.

“I can confirm that she has returned safely to her family in the US,” Yusuf said.

“Her parents successfully booked her flight from Israel to the States.

“She has safely reunited with her family in Seattle in Washington State, as we speak.”

The women’s premier league in Israel was canceled earlier in the month with a brace of games remaining for the national women’s football team’s prolific striker’s ASA Tel-Aviv University SC when fierce fighting broke out between the Israeli military and the Palestinian militants.

Davis debuted for the national women’s football team at the tender age of 16 during the 2018 OFC Women’s Nations Cup qualifiers and was integral to the side’s bridesmaids finish against favourites New Zealand; she scored five sensational goals during the tournament including a hat-trick in her maiden appearance against Vanuatu at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

Former national men’s football coach and Frenchman Christophe Gamel had scouted the proud Fijian.

Davis will be the country’s X-factor during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

The American-born lass has maternal links to the vanua o Viseisei in Lautoka.
