‘Dash for Diabetes’ launched

On Saturday November 26, the Petero Civoniceva Foundation, in partnership with Asco Motors, will be hosting their annual “Dash for Diabetes” 5km run and family fun day.

The event will be held in the month of World Diabetes Awareness as a way of taking a pro-active step to reducing the amount of people in Fiji with Type II Diabetes by getting them active.

The 2016 Dash for Diabetes will be held at Buckhurst Grounds, Suva. Entry fee is only $1 which is paid on the day and the event is open to all ages and abilities.

The day will begin with breakfast from 7:30am onwards followed by a fun and energetic warm up with renowned zumba instructor Karen Krishna at 8:30am with a race start of 9am. The day’s events will finish at 11:30am.

The whole event will be supported by The Fiji Times and professional photographers FotoFusion

The route itself will be manned by Fulton Hogan Hiways staff and foundation volunteers as participants leave Buckhurst Grounds, run or walk up to Suva Grammar School and loop back round into the startting point.

The event is also supported by the Fiji Sports Council.

Rugby league legend Petero Civoniceva will also take part.
