THE Vou Dance Group says a fire that destroyed their five-bedroom home in Nakurakukra, Nadi, last night has only made them more determined to regroup, recoup and get back into action.

Group director Sachiko Soro said she was grateful no one was hurt during the ordeal.

“We just thank God that everyone got out safely,” she said.

“It happened around 11pm last night, one of the dancers – who was awake – alerted the rest and managed to rouse the rest of them.

“The fire began from a two-bedroom flat adjoining their home.

“It is so unfortunate that the fire spread so quickly that they were unable to retrieve all their personal belongings.

“Vou is organising the Navo Fire Fundraiser at the Fun Hub on Friday June 21.

“The venue is located on the road next to Cardo’s Beer Garden before the entrance to Denarau Island.

“Tickets are available through or by calling 6700693.”

Mrs Soro said buses would be provided from outside Jack’s Nadi Town, Votualevu and Martintar to and from the venue.
