Vanua Levu will open its borders in two days’ time – Monday, June 21, 2021 – but only those returning to Bua will be allowed first.

Those scheduled to return to Cakaudrove and Macuata will return later.

Bua provincial administrator, Peni Naqasevakatini said 12 people have been allowed to return on Monday, a drop from the first lot of 27 who wanted to return.

He said when applicants were informed that they needed to quarantine for 14 days in Vanua Levu, most opted to stay back.

These 12 people, he added would be taken from the jetty to Solevu Primary School for quarantine period of 14 days before being released to get home.
