The results of two more COVID-19 tests will be made known this week, says Health Ministry chief medical officer Dr Jemesa Tudravu.

He said it involved a 25-year-old woman and her son.

During a press conference on Saturday, Dr Tudravu said the two cases of interest were linked to case number nine — a 54-year-old man of Soasoa in Labasa.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said following his arrival in Soasoa, the man, his daughter-in-law, and grandson were all taken into isolation and tested.

“We tested all three – and two of them, including the father – tested positive,” Mr Bainimarama said.

“We are currently doing a second-round test on the daughter-in-law and grandson to confirm their results.

“In the meantime, all three family members remain in isolation at Labasa Hospital where they are in stable condition.”

Mr Bainimarama said all Fijians living with COVID-19 were in stable condition.

Fiji now has 12 confirmed cases.
