The 39-year-old sister of Fiji’s fifth confirmed case of COVID-19 has tested positive for the virus.

Fiji’s fifth case is a woman who shared a hug with the 27-year-old flight attendant who was the first to contract the virus in Fiji.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said she developed symptoms after she was placed in quarantine.

She is presently isolated and remains admitted in a stable condition at Lautoka Hospital.
