Fiji’s Commissioner of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho is pleading with Fijians to cooperate with police officers and officials manning roadblocks as the lockdown of the greater Suva area came into effect at 5am today.

Roadblocks have already been erected at the three main entry points into Suva.

These are at the Delainavesi Bridge in Lami, the Sawani junction in Naitasiri and at the Rewa Bridge in Nausori.

“We are pleading with everyone to cooperate with Police officers and officials manning the roadblocks so we are able to get through the 14-day isolation period without any major incidents,” Brig-Gen Qiliho said.
