BUS companies in the North may soon close operations as passenger numbers continue to dwindle.

Parmod Enterprise Limited’s executive Edwin Parmod said they were experiencing a decline in passenger numbers since Monday this week.

He said this was mainly due to the isolation strategies being put out by Government as a means of preventing the spread of the disease.

“We will have to monitor our operations within the next few days before we decide to stop operations,” he said.

“The drop in passenger numbers will affect our operations sometimes later this week and if this continues business for us will become incompatible.”

Dalip Chand and Sons Buses Ltd director Rohinil Chand shared the same sentiments adding they had recorded a decline in the number of passengers in their busses.

Ms Chand said they would have to monitor the situation before deciding on whether to cease operations too.
