Nausori Market was closed earlier today to allow vendors to be screened for COVID-19.

It was seen that vendors and some customers who entered the market in the morning were kept inside for screening.

And in a social media post on Twitter this afternoon, Minister for Local Government Premila Kumar confirmed the closure.

“The Ministry of Local Government wishes to advise the public that Nausori Market has been closed off after vendors and staff were swabbed for COVID-19 by MOH officials today,” Mrs Kumar said.

“Pending on the results tomorrow, the ministry will advise when the market will re-open for business.”
