COVID-19: More alcohol-related arrests over two days

The Eastern Division recorded no cases of breaching curfew restrictions within the last two days.

And Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu said the 32 cases recorded for that period were mostly alcohol-related.

On Thursday, the Southern Division recorded eight cases, including five people who were found drunk in Nasinu.

Three were arrested in Nabua and Navua found loitering.

In the Western Division, four people in their 20s were arrested intoxicated in Lautoka, while two farmers were also in the same state when they were arrested in Nadi.

The Eastern, Northern, and Central divisions recorded nil cases.

Twenty cases were recorded on Friday.

In the Southern Division, there were six alcohol-related cases.

For the Western Division, seven people were arrested and included an 18-year-old student.

Six others were arrested in the Western Division.

In the Northern Division, four people who were drinking in a vehicle were arrested in Savusavu.

The Central Division recorded only one case, a man who was found drunk and loitering at the Suva bus station.

No arrests were reported in the Eastern Division.
