The Labasa Chamber of Commerce is closely working with its members to ensure that COVID-19 safety measures are adhered to.

Chamber president Satish Kumar said the names of all customers entering shops were registered if they did not have the careFiji app.

“This is very important and we have advised our members to practise safe distancing within their shops and ensure customers’ names and contacts are listed,” Mr Kumar said.

Restaurants in town are only serving takeaway packs and customers are not allowed to eat in as part of COVID-19 measures to avoid overcrowding.

This is in line with the Government’s announcement that restaurants may not open for in-person dining but it may offer delivery and takeaway services.
