The North Queensland Cowboys preparation for the new NRL season took a negative twist as 10 of its players tested positive for COVID-19.

The players, NRL.com reported, are currently in home isolation. It also reported the players are abiding by Queensland Health guidelines and will isolate at home for seven days.

“Players not showing symptoms will be permitted to return to training following the seven-day isolation period,” the report said.

Fijian trio Taniela Sadrugu, Tokyo Olympics Games medallist Iosefo Masikau and Laitia Moceidreke are part of the training squad.
