The Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre is working with its partners to supply food and medicine to victims of domestic violence in Fiji’s lockdown areas.

FWCC coordinator Shamima Ali said it was a difficult time for everyone and her office was focused on facilitating the needs of victims of gender-based violence.

She said women were very vulnerable to violence and abuse in Fiji’s lockdown areas.

Ms Ali has appealed to men to act with kindness and love with their wives and children.

She said the centre was providing 24-hour counselling services, seven days a week, together with victim support services.

Those members of the public needing assistance can contact the National Domestic Violence helpline on 1560 from any network.
