COVID-19: FRIEND attends to 43 emergency calls

The Foundation for Rural Integrated Enterprises and Development (FRIEND) Fiji attended to emergency calls from 43 needy families in Lautoka today.

Director Sashi Kiran 15 calls were from mothers who urgently needed baby formulas while the rest were from families who had nothing at all.

She said five teams continued their assessments on applications made to them.

The local NGO has been assisting hundreds of families in the Western Division when the COVID-19 pandemic second wave hit nearly a month ago

They received 5000 calls alone this weeks from families who are in need of assistance.
