Four new cases of COVID-19 have been announced by the Ministry of Health and Medical Services today.

Out of the four cases, three attended the funeral in Lautoka while there is one case from Makoi, Nasinu.

Ministry Permanent Secretary Dr James Fong said it is not certain how the Makoi person contracted the virus.

Due to this, Lami, Suva and Nausori go into lock down from 4am tomorrow.

The lock down containment zones are in three sections.

“For a period of 14 days, we will be closing off exits at the following checkpoints, starting from 4am tomorrow morning, April 26: beginning from Wainadoi to Tamavua- I- Wai–Tamavua-I- Wai to 8 Miles bridge,  8 Miles bridge to Logani Village on Kings Road,” Dr Fong said.

The three west cases involve a couple who also attended the funeral.
