Fiji has reported two new cases of COVID-19.

This was confirmed in a statement on the Fijian Government’s official Facebook page this evening.

The statement says both of these cases are tied to existing clusters.

“The first is a close contact from the most recent Makoi cluster.

“The second is a close contact from the cluster in Nadali, Nausori.”

The Makoi case has been in an isolation facility since May 10, 2021 and the Nadali case has been entered into isolation.

According to the statement contact tracing for both individuals is underway.

Fiji now has 50 active COVID-19 cases in isolation, six of which are border quarantine cases, 31 locally transmitted cases and 13 are currently being investigated to determine source of transmission.
