The son of the man who was confirmed as Fiji’s 19th COVID-19 case and a 36-year-old woman have also tested positive for the virus.

Health acting permanent secretary Dr James Fong confirmed this at a press conference at the Dinem House, Toorak in Suva today.

All these patients returned from India on a repatriation flight last week and are known as border quarantine cases.

Dr Fong said the father and son have been transferred from the Nadi Hospital to the Lautoka Hospital and remain in isolation.

He said the woman was tested this morning after developing mild symptoms of the virus.

Dr Fong said the rest of the 105 passengers will be tested tomorrow.

Meanwhile Head of Health Protection at Ministry of Health and Medical Services, Dr Aalisha Sahu Khan said all these patients have been tested positive in a very controlled situation.
