COVID-19 Fiji: Health Ministry reports seven new cases

The Ministry of Health and Medical Services has reported seven new cases of COVID-19.

In its update report last night, ministry permanent secretary Dr James Fong said one new case was recorded on April 14 and six new cases recorded in the last 24 hours ending at 8am yesterday.

He said of the seven cases recorded, six cases were recorded in the Western Division and one case recorded in the Northern Division.

“Overall, there have been 64,439 cases of COVID-19 recorded in Fiji, with 68 per cent of the cases from the Central Division, 27 per cent of the cases from the Western Division, and 2 per cent of the cases from the Eastern Division, and 3 per cent from the Northern Division,” Dr Fong said.

The national seven-day rolling average of cases as of April 11 is five daily cases.

No COVID death was also reported.

There have been a total of 862 deaths due to COVID-19 in Fiji.

There are three people admitted in hospital at present.
