COVID-19 Fiji: 51 new cases reported

Fiji has recorded 51 new cases of COVID-19 since the last update on Friday, October 22.

Ministry of Health permanent secretary Dr James Fong said 22 of those new cases were recorded on October 23, and 15 new cases recorded on October 24, and 14 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours ending at 8am today.

There were no COVID deaths reported, however, Dr Fong said there was one death of a COVID-19 positive patient but that death was classified as a non-COVID-19 death.

Overall, for this seond wave, there have been 51,958 cases recorded, with 71 per cent of the cases from the Central Division, 27 per cent of the cases from the Western Division, and 2 per cent of the cases from the Eastern and Northern divisions.
