COVID-19: FEMAT patients transferred to Lautoka hospital

Patients admitted at the Fiji Emergency Medical team (FEMAT) Field Hospital have been transferred to the Lautoka Hospital this morning.

Head of FEMAT Dr Luke Nasedra says they are expected to round up operations at the Nadovu Park facility on Tuesday.

“FEMAT will commence transferring of patients to Lautoka Hospital today but will continue to do emergency services, surgery, and maternal deliveries until Tuesday, June 1,” he said.

“We will close our gates to the public from Tuesday.”

The FEMAT Field Hospital and the the medical ship, the MV Veivueti were activated earlier this month to support healthcare management strategy within the Lautoka containment area.
