Rakiraki’s first COVID-19 isolation centre is now ready for use, thanks to the provision of 20 beds to the Government by Muslim Aid Australia (MAA).

The isolation centre is located at the Ra School for Special Education.

“In response to COVID19, MAA is one of the first NGOs in Fiji to engage and work closely with the Fiji Government to facilitate bedding and food items for isolation centres across Fiji,” a post on the Muslim Aid Australia social media page stated.

“We’ve already delivered 20 beds to the Rakiraki Town COVID-19 isolation centre and plan to deliver seven days of food assistance to the COVID-19 isolation centre in Lautoka City.”

The management of the school has handed over the premises to the Ministry of Health and Medical Services for usage as an isolation centre.
