Thirty-two needy families within the Lautoka containment area received basic food items today.

Lautoka philanthropist Allen Lockington dropped off food packs and basic necessities at their homes from this morning.

“These are the $60 food packs which we delivered this morning to the needy families,” Mr Lockington said.

“We also delivered survival packs, which we also dropped off this morning for those families who have run low on their rations and needed a top-up.

“We also delivered packs on the Tuvu and Lomolomo borders today.”

Mr Lockington said locals and overseas donors continued to pour in monetary donations that had assisted needy families in many ways.

He said people from as far as Denmark continued to send money for those in need.

Local donors have also pitched in and they started their ‘breakfast run’ this week where loaves of bread and butter were dropped off to needy families.

The initiative was started last year when COVID-19 affected most working people in the Western Division.
